All of the stylists at Brushed Hair Salon strive to create a healthy salon environment, where everyone feels safe, respected and heard. Our color consultations are thorough and use color analysis to determine tones that will compliment YOUR skin and eyes for the most natural, youthful look.

Cortney

Cortney, our lead stylist, is a seasoned stylist with 23 years of experience behind the chair. She is also the cutting educator here at Brushed. Cortney loves creating natural looking hair colors as well as haircuts that are easy to recreate at home. Cortney specializes in hair color that will complement your skin tone, razor cuts, dry cutting and precision cutting on all hair types and textures. She has a passion for teaching and education her clients. She truly believes that communication and education are the keys to achieving hair success. Cortney will take the time to listen and share information with you during a thorough consultation and which will result in hair you love! When Cortney isn’t at the salon she is spending time with her family and usually trying to plan where their next adventure will be!

Caitlin

Caitlin has been licensed for over 15 years but holds a lifetime of experience from spending time at her family’s hair salon. After earning a degree in communications and a minor in business at Plymouth State, she decided to dive into her true love, hair. You will often find Caitlin at school events or in the pick up and drop off lines, as she resides here in Newburyport with her young family. Caitlin specializes in cutting all hair textures and color services that enhance your natural skin tone and desired maintenance level.

Spencer

Spencer is just as passionate about beauty, health and making people feel beautiful as when she took her very first client over 14 years ago. She is an exceptional listener, taking care to be sure each client feels heard and is passionate about helping clients obtain their hair goals while educating them on achievable and complimentary styles to their lifestyle, face shape and coloring.

Ava

Ava is a local girl, she graduated from Newburyport HS and is known for her expertise in creating effortlessly beautiful, lived-in blondes that grow out seamlessly while maintaining the health and integrity of the hair.

With a deep understanding of hair color chemistry, Ava customizes every shade to complement her clients’ natural tones, ensuring soft, dimensional results that last. She believes that great hair starts with listening, and she takes the time to truly understand her clients' needs, lifestyle, and hair goals.

Emily

Emily is a stylist who believes that great hair starts with great relationships. She loves getting to know her clients on a personal level to fully understand their vision and create customized plans to help them reach their hair goals. With a deep understanding of the chemistry behind hair and hair color, Emily specializes in creating healthy, lived-in color and cuts, always with a focus on maintaining the integrity of the hair.

Originally from south of Boston, Emily is now proud to call Newburyport home. When she’s not behind the chair making hair dreams come true, you can find her practicing yoga, reading, or spending time with her friends and family.

Brena

With over a decade of experience behind the chair, Brena brings both skill and warmth to every client she serves. Originally licensed in Florida, she made the move to the North Shore several years ago and has been creating beautiful hair here ever since.

Though she originally earned a degree in Criminal Justice, Brena’s passion for creativity and connection led her to a career in hairstyling—a decision that allows her to blend artistry with her love for making people feel their best. She specializes in seamless blonding, natural blends, and precision short cuts, all while ensuring her clients feel completely at ease in her chair.

When you sit with Brena, you’re not just getting great hair—you’re getting a stylist who truly listens and cares.

Kerri

As the owner of Brushed, Kerri is passionate about sharing her knowledge of all things hair and her love for the industry with both stylists and salon owners. Supporting the Brushed team is at the heart of her work, and mentoring emerging talent is one of her greatest joys.

She developed Brushed’s fast-paced, in-depth apprenticeship program to give motivated new stylists the tools, techniques, and confidence they need to thrive behind the chair.

Beyond the salon, Kerri is a certified Life and Success Coach, trained in NLP, Clinical Hypnotherapy, EFT, and TIME Techniques. She is also the founder of The Regulated Salon, a transformational coaching program designed to help salon owners and team leaders grow healthy, profitable businesses through mindset work, subconscious reprogramming, and strategies that work!

Whether she’s behind the scenes at Brushed or guiding fellow owners, Kerri’s mission is clear: to uplift the industry by creating sustainable success...for both teams and leaders.
